Heroku Project – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #474

Heroku Project – Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the Week #474

Welcome to my Salesforce Tip of the Week #474

Tip 1 – Heroku Project

Heroku Project

Thank you to Rhiannon who recommended this Heroku Project to the team this week… here is what she shared:

This trailhead project is a great start for developers or release managers to get to grips with how a Heroku pipeline with staging and production versions of your web app can be setup and integrated to your GitHub environment. You can view open GitHub pull requests as Heroku ‘Review Apps’ to see code changes in action before merging them. You can also deploy branches to your Heroku staging App for more testing before promoting them to production. Furthermore, with Heroku Connect you can sync your Heroku App’s Postgres database to your Salesforce data in any environment – connect prod to prod, and staging to sandbox.

To do this trail you will need a Github and a Heroku account – you can set up a version of each for free.

Tip 2 – More News

Workflow

In previous weeks we have shared the rumour, that then became news, and now has some official details. Here is all you need to know about the future of Workflow Rules and Process Builder.
