The rumours were indeed correct, and this week it was confirmed that Salesforce is buying Slack…but also Acumen Solutions. Acumen Solutions is a Global Platinum Partner, and reports suggest Salesforce will ‘integrate Acumen Solutions with its professional services business upon the deal’s closing’.
Hyperforce and Einstein Automate
These were two of the big announcements at the DF2U Keynote. COO Bret Taylor says of Hyperforce, “Simply put, we’ve been working to enable us to deliver Salesforce on public cloud infrastructure all around the world”. Salesforce will be rolling out Hyperforce over the next year and beyond as it opens in more regions.
I am still a little confused about what Einstein Automate is… this post says “it is a new solution that brings together all of the familiar tools like Flow, Einstein Next Best Action and Bots, with new offerings such as MuleSoft Composer, Flow Orchestrator, and OmniStudio”. It does add that ‘a number of the tools that make up Einstein Automate are available to use today, such as Flow’. But Flow isn’t brand new. So I guess Einstein Automate is a package with some current and some new features. That’s cleared that up!
Best wishes to the marathon running Mark Hawkins who is set to leave Salesforce as CFO in January, and will be replaced by Amy Weaver, a current president and chief legal officer. Did he over-spend in his last few weeks!?
And finally…the highlight of the week MUST be Marc Benioff hiding in the bushes during the Keynote. Congrats to Daniel Ballinger who captured it so well 🙂
