This week my tip is to head over and check out the new Salesforce Architects blog that has been launched on Medium. It looks like it is going to be a fantastic resource for all existing and aspiring Salesforce Architects to get great and detailed content around architectural topics.
What’s the big deal?
When I first started out with Salesforce over 15 years ago, it was a lot simpler. You had one product, what is now Sales Cloud, and you were more limited in what you were able to do. The set of things you had to think about and keep in you head was a lot smaller. Now, Salesforce has 12 different product areas, some of which have multiple products and clouds underneath them. Each cloud or product has multiple editions and add-ons. And they can all integrate together. And integrate with external systems. Salesforce has gone from a standalone app to a fully platform with a suite of products and an almost limitless number of potential integrations.
People are now using Salesforce for so much more because of this, and storing much more data on the platform. This has dramatic implications for the way in which you design, build and scale your applications. When I started Cloud Galacticos, part of my aim was to bring together highly experienced Salesforce experts who could help our customers with these challenges. That’s why we now have a team of highly experienced Salesforce architects. This new resource is going to be extremely useful for our team and all those out there helping customers with these sorts of large scale challenges. Well done to Zayne and the team, I look forward to seeing the content they come out with. And if you need any Salesforce architecture help, feel free to let me know.
