Phil’s Salesforce Tip of the week – 28 June 2013

2 suggestions for you this week, the first for developers, the second for stats addicts.

Tip #1 – Discussion Boards

This is the heart of the community, where you’ll find dozens of conversations underway about developing on Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced developer, don’t hesitate to ask questions and participate in these discussions. Click here to take a look at the murky world of developers..

Tip #2 – Appexchange Dashboard Pack

My review on the Appexchange states ‘Don’t mess around – just install this, then you can go home early!’ I like to champion FREE apps, and there a lot out there that are worth a look. This one has all the start up reports and dashboards you need. This will keep you informed of all your metrics, probably for the first 3-6 months of your use of Salesforce, and dont be surprised if you are still using many of the reports and components in years to come! Then when you have some more customisation done, and some specifics that the boss wants reporting on, you can build some new or tweak some of these reports/dashboards! Launch of the North West User Group

As you can probably guess, I am pretty keen on building our Salesforce community! It’s Glastonbury weekend here in the UK, so we have all gone a bit ‘tree-hugging hippy’, but it really does helps us all to help each other. So I am very happy to announce the launch of a brand new Salesforce group here in the North West of England. The first event will be in Manchester in September, so watch this space for announcements. Thanks for your support!
