Tip 1 – Store Data Privacy Preferences

I briefly mentioned this in my review of the Spring ’18 release notes, but it looks like there will be a new Standard Object called ‘Individual’, which will house any privacy preferences. At the moment it is planned to be linked to Contact or Lead records, but I believe you may be able to also link this to any custom objects which you may have built to hold the details of ‘people’. This will be useful for general preferences, but also especially now in time for GDPR. Take a look on page40 of the release notes for more details, and when you are ready go to :

Setup / Data Protection and Privacy / edit / click ‘Make data protection details available in records’ / Save. Then add the ‘Individual’ field to Lead/Contact page layouts.

Tip 2 – Nominate new MVPs

Do you know someone that has been helpful to you or the Salesforce community? I have a few people that I am nominating to be a new MVP this year! Who has shown Expertise, Generosity, Leadership, and Advocacy in the ecosystem? Take a look here and add your nominations.

As you probably know, current MVPs get reviewed and (hopefully) renewed each year, so fingers crossed I will be picking up my 5th MVP award in a month or so, but there are still high standards for renewals as well as new awards…especially when you are being reviewed by your peers 🙂
