Tip #1 App of the Week – “Salesforce for Twitter and Facebook”
This week I had another look at this FREE app which is a nice integration between Salesforce and your social media accounts. I have only been back on Twitter for a year, so wanted to revisit this with my new Twitter account (please follow me or say hi @SFDCphil).
The Salesforce for Twitter and Facebook App can pull your Twitter conversations and searches into Salesforce. It will save them as Conversations, or raise them as Cases. It can also create new contacts for the ‘tweeters’, although linking an existing Contact to a tweeter seemed a bit fiddly.
If you want the full ‘Big Brother’ effect of monitoring all social media interactions, waiting for any mention globally of “bald Salesforce Consultant UK” or something, then you should use Radian6 which is now part of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. But Salesforce for Twitter and Facebook is a great free option for this on a simpler level.
Thanks to Shaun and Matt at Desynit for the prompt in revisiting this App, have a listen to their new podcast here.
