Tip #1

Lets be honest, do we all remember what change we made to a Validation rule or a Profile before we went on our 2012 Christmas party? We can easily  tell when a Workflow was last modified, but who modified it before that? Well if you look at the Audit Trail you can go back 6 months, and download a .csv file of those changes! It wont always show you every detail of each change that was made, but it will show you what area of that configuration has been changed, and by whom.

Go to Setup/Administration Setup/Security Controls/View Setup Audit Trail. You can see the most recent 20 entries, or scroll down and click ‘Download setup audit trail for last six months (Excel .csv file)’ to see the full 6 months of entries.

It’s a free feature for all Editions of Salesforce, so why not run it today and save the .csv file, then log a reminder for yourself to run it again in 6 months time.
